Since its founding in 2001, FLEXSCHE Corporation has been dedicated to the development and sales of production schedulersFLEXSCHEcontinuously.
When I established the company and even afterwards, I was often asked why I did not venture into a more major field instead of a niche product like a production scheduler. In fact, production schedulers are crucial tools that can directly solve significant and diverse problems arising in the manufacturing sites of the manufacturing industry. However, due to their complexity and depth, there are very few engineers with the expertise to develop package software that balances high versatility and ease of use. Since there is no sufficiently capable solution available worldwide, I saw no reason to abandon this endeavor. I was confident that by engaging in the development of production schedulers, I could create the greatest value. After all, there is a lot to be done.
We understand well that what FLEXSCHE's end-users and our partner companies expect from us is to continue evolving FLEXSCHE products and services at a high level and to sustain the business stably and for a long time. My own inclination is also contrary to expanding the company's scale or diversifying the business. In a capitalist society, the pursuit and expansion of profit are often regarded as the essence and purpose of a company, but I do not subscribe to that view at all. It is regrettable that there are too many people and companies unaware of the futility of making "earning money" the purpose. I believe that the essence of a company and the professionals working in it is to "create value," and we must all focus on that. If we do good work and create and provide great value, others will become happier by that amount, and the resulting compensation is sales and profit, which is extremely natural. Of course, I can say this so optimistically because I am not in a position where I am obliged to pursue profit for shareholders or investors.
No matter how excellent FLEXSCHE products are, they have no meaning just by existing. It is only when end-users actually use them and achieve results in their actual work that they can be said to have created value. Therefore, not only product development but also sales, user support, and all activities supporting them are important work. It is my and the company's important responsibility to create and maintain an environment where staff can do such good work. I believe that securing economic, time, and mental leeway, and ensuring that staff and their families can live happily without anxiety, is a necessary condition for doing good work that creates the greatest value.
For the end-users and partners who have placed their expectations on FLEXSCHE products and have invested a lot over the years, we aim to continue responding to the endless needs of the manufacturing industry, challenge new technologies, and continue to meet everyone's trust and expectations, based on the highly concentrated accumulated know-how and a stable financial state without borrowing.
Above, I have written quite a lot of exemplary things, but all of it is my true feelings. I believe that the true thrill of entrepreneurship lies in being able to pursue such ideals without being bound by the constraints of society or having to be considerate of others.
