Based in Ansan City, northwest Korea, EGiT Corporation is a key player in the FLEXSCHE business in Asia. President Lee Kwang Yong started a business dealing with production schedulers in 2002. Initially, they handled American-made package software but later switched to FLEXSCHE. Although there was a period of withdrawal from those businesses, they re-established in 2011, expanded their business scale, and began implementation not only in Korea but also in Europe and Southeast Asia by 2018. As one of the major partners, EGiT Corporation is a presence that conveys the value of FLEXSCHE to the world.

In December 2017, we interviewed Mr. Lee, who visited Japan for the partner meeting. EGiT Corporation, which expands its business solely with the FLEXSCHE business, shared how their business is established and the reasons for choosing FLEXSCHE, along with Mr. Lee's passionate thoughts on the Korean manufacturing industry.

Started FLEXSCHE business in Korea

Mr. Lee encountered FLEXSCHE in 2003.
"From the first contact with FLEXSCHE Corporation, I was impressed by their quick response. When I actually heard about it, I was very surprised by the differences from the package software we had been handling, and decided to switch to FLEXSCHE."
The production scheduler they had been handling was completely packaged software and did not necessarily meet customer demands. In contrast, FLEXSCHE was "easy to customize and able to meet diverse customer needs," he felt. Additionally, Mr. Lee found the user interface easy to handle and "even felt it was splendid," he said, further adding, "I felt I could trust President Urano's personality, and I feel that the trust relationship between the current FLEXSCHE Corporation and our company is also becoming stronger," he also mentioned regarding the relationship.
At that time, in the Korean manufacturing industry, there was no market for production schedulers, and planning was typically done manually, with no concept of using programs. However, "although the recognition of production schedulers is low, the demand is not small. Initially, we acquired customers through connections from the ERP business we were doing at the time and introductions from acquaintances," he said.
Due to the low recognition, even though there is interest in production schedulers, there is often hesitation in implementation. Mr. Lee believes it is important to ensure the success of every project and continue creating case studies. So far, they have accumulated 24 licenses and 15 company implementations.
The best of both packaging and customization

FLEXSCHE is a product that can be said to take the best of both packaging and customization, as it is packaged yet easy to customize. The quick response and flexibility are also significant strengths. When introducing FLEXSCHE to customers, they are amazed by this flexibility and diverse functionality. The extensive support from FLEXSCHE Corporation is also important. Among the requests from clients, there are some that are difficult for us to find solutions to on our own. In such cases, consulting with the technical staff of FLEXSCHE Corporation often leads to solutions. With close communication with FLEXSCHE Corporation, there are no challenges that cannot be solved with FLEXSCHE. The quick response to communication when problems arise and the ability to promptly address client inquiries are also major attractions for us.
The customer satisfaction with EGiT Corporation's integration is high, and it has been newly decided to introduce it to the factories in Asia and Europe of a stainless wire manufacturer that was previously introduced to five factories in Korea. The expansion of such achievements also indicates high evaluation. As the implementation achievements in the Korean manufacturing industry accumulate, production schedulers are becoming widely recognized in Korea, and the production scheduler market is gradually expanding.

In the past, inquiries mainly came from corporate information system personnel, but now inquiries from those responsible for production planning, that is, those who actually use production schedulers, have increased. This indicates that the production scheduler market itself is growing significantly. By accumulating successful cases, the usefulness of production schedulers is becoming understood in the Korean manufacturing industry.
Currently, we are acquiring customers through the official education courses of the 'Small and Medium Business Promotion Corporation', a quasi-governmental organization, held twice a year, and through online promotional activities.

The production scheduler in Korea is expected to further develop. We believe that FLEXSCHE will be increasingly needed in more manufacturing industries in the future.
FLEXSCHE is indispensable for the development of the Korean manufacturing industry.

As EGiT continues to expand FLEXSCHE, primarily in Korea and further overseas, what is the secret to their success? One of the most important things Mr. Lee mentioned for implementation is to 'introduce FLEXSCHE to all processes'. Collecting master data for all processes alone requires a tremendous amount of work. However, the attitude of 'let's introduce it to some processes and if successful, apply it to others' does not allow FLEXSCHE to perform at its best. The fact that they have managed to realize this as much as possible at each implementation site is likely a factor in EGiT's success in Korea.

There are often many different requirements for each process. Of course, it becomes a very challenging implementation task, but we believe that the success of the project lies in meeting all those requirements one by one.
EGiT welcomed a new member last April. Mr. Lee Jae Hyuk, the eldest son of Mr. Lee, joined the company. Utilizing his experience in ERP implementation at other companies, he is engaged in engineering work, as well as translation and video production.

He joined EGiT because he realized the importance of production schedulers in his previous job. He also hopes to eventually take over his father's business.
He says he is still learning, but he plans to participate in actual projects and make significant contributions in the future. He is expected to become an important figure in further expanding the FLEXSCHE business across Asia.

The production scheduler business is difficult and challenging. However, I believe that spreading FLEXSCHE will contribute to the development of Korea's manufacturing industry, and I am committed to this endeavor. I want to enhance the international competitiveness of Korea's manufacturing industry, and I believe this can be achieved with FLEXSCHE. We have faced many challenges in advancing this business, but I expect even better results in the future.
Mr. Lee's desire to contribute to the development of his country's manufacturing industry from the perspective of a production scheduler will surely be passed on to Mr. Jae Hyuk and realized through high technical skills.
